wild wailing : sad cows and broken bottles

i’d live to love in the garden
dream in the mountains for all of destiny
still i’m in the mire of these times
chemical wasteland of mind over mined
let me out my heart is breaking
tears and fears are falling fast
set me free my bodys aching
as wild is wailing future present past

our grandfathers were miners
in these here hills of gold
but theyÕre ain’t no more good soil
and the booze and the bars
are dragging us all to whiskey hell

if i can’t recall the old songs
how can i remember the new times?

i thought the war ended years ago
till i saw new ovens in england farming towns
and the sunflowers were laid to rest with children blest
with the deepest brownest eyes i’ve ever seen

i’d live to love in the garden
dream in the mountains for all of destiny
still i’m in the mire of these times
chemical wasteland of mind over mined
let me out my heart is breaking
tears and fears are falling fast
set me free my bodys aching
as wild is wailing future present past

if i can’t remember the old times
how can i recall the new songs ?
