grandmothers child
we could all run away from here
how far to go?
on a spiral we return home
we talk these days of our past
showing us how to love or kick ass
now sure i believe in good things to come
but this road has to be walked on
i’ve got memories like the others do
of the fist and the fountain
of the blood and then the blue
looking through the window
away from the pain
my grandmothers child
feels the falling rain
now that we are older
what can we gain?
do we have to go back
and do it all again?
can we live our lives
the other way around?
loving as we want and
always to be loved
we could all run away from here
how far to go?
on a spiral we return home
